I am always fascinated when I see carvings that are done in one piece like that...wowie!  Will you stain it or leave it as is?

Since this was a practice piece, I probably won't do anything else with it.  When I do the long chain, I will stain it in Christmassy colors.

Pinokeeo, that's a beautiful carving. How long will your piece of wood need to be to make a 48 links chain?

Trinalocakary, I would love to taste your infused brandy.

Carol, that's a lovely apron. The lampshade is a creative idea. I could imagine this kind of display in a modern shop's window.

Kookaloo-Star, that's a bunch of lovely hats. My favorites are the spiral ones.

Because of the 2 surgeries this year has been hard for me craft wise, I did do 50+ items but 30 of them were necklaces and earrings (all different) and I didn't get to most of my list.
Now I have made a promise not to buy art supplies for the next 5 months at least so I will need to take my list and make it a destash only goal list.
Oh well 5 1/2 weeks to figure out what I can do with what I have.

Well, that's actually a guess on my part.  The piece of wood that I have is four feet long.  Each link will be about 1.5 inches, but they'll overlap by a quarter of an inch on either side.  It's going to be tough working with a four foot piece of wood, but once I get a foot off each end, it won't be so bad.

Forgot to get a pic, but I ended up finishing 2 coiled fabric bowls for the charity auction yesterday.  Puts me up to 9 projects for the year...think I can get 41 in the last 5 weeks?   Wink

I am going to bet that your 9 projects are 9 more than MOST PEOPLE in your circle...most of my friends in real life have never made anything handmade... ;(...so you pat yourself on the back!!!!  I also love coiled fabric bowls...and they are a bit time consuming but turn out to be a wonderful project!

Here are the socks I made for kittykill...working on a pair for Phizzychick next...the mods are going to have warm feet this winter if it takes me knitting 24/7 until the end of the year!!! Wink

I have been away and super busy because our old house is being renovated...here is a sneak peak of our new front window and garage...construction always takes longer and costs more than the estimate...I can't wait until it is over.

I am not counting this as a projectfor me, but some of the projects that have to be done inside will be on my 2014 list for sure...like new curtains! Cheesy

Does packing the stash count as a project?  It took me longer to do than most of my projects... and was quite traumatic...

The three boxes on the top of this pile are the same size as the ones on the bottom of the pic above

Those boxes on the bottom of this pile are large repack boxes from Michaels (you may have seen them holding overstock in the yarn department).  They're stacked two-deep here.

Not pictured because I couldn't be bothered to get up from the couch: the stack of smaller boxes in the bedroom (mostly scrap yarn), and the yarn in our two storage units in the parking garage...

In the new apartment, I'll have a craft room... and like alwaysinmyroom, some of my 2014 projects will be for that!
