Pinokeeo, those are great rugs. I especially liked the last one. And those wooden cars are so cute. Did you make them by hand?

mellybelly81 Daw! What a beauty! Congratulations!

I cut them out with a bandsaw, and I don't make the wheels, but they are my own patterns, and I make everything from scratch.  No kits.

What an adorable baby!!  Babies are soooo special.

ok--Mel--not sure that I can count that as a crafting project since you did have some help making that adorable baby! Wink  Congrats!

pinokeeo--what cute little toys!  And, of course, who could forget your great rugs!?  The one I made, inspired by you, is holding up so well!

quaggy--I really love the look of burlap and your projects are just beautiful!  Also, I am not sure I understand about the crate covers...what is underneath the fabric?  In the swap, I thought you meant like pet crates... Cheesy

sheepblue--your tutorial on screenprinting at home is wonderful!

You could still have your own toys.  Just ask.

Always, if you made that rug according to my instructions, it will last you forever.  I have just recently retired a rug that I made 30 years ago, and have used for a bath mat all these years.  The only reason for retirement is because I changed the colors in my bathroom.

Ok, my next photos are about my carvings.  I was in an auto accident a year ago and was unable to work in my shop, so I took up carving again.  Not just any carving, though.  I decided to try carving hollow spirals with a bench knife.  Here's the results, from left to right, 12 point moravian star, long hollow spiral with stain, tradition shaped ornament, long hollow spiral painted to look like a candy cane and an 8 point moravian star.

This is the one that won the blue ribbon you see in my avatar.  And if you look to the right in my avatar, you'll see the ornament which is about three inches tall.  That will tell you how big the ribbon is.

Those hollow carved projects must have taken forever!  How thin can they be made?  I was thinking that those spirals would be beautiful as shawl pins... Cheesy

I think I will have my rug forever...it has all the colors I love and will fit whatever color I make my bathroom in the future! Cheesy  It was hard work for me as it got so heavy --I remember the one you made was huge and super heavy!  Mine was tiny in comparison!

Thanks for posting your lovely projects...and welcome again...I missed seeing you and hope that you continue to share your ideas and inspiration.

I don't think they would work for shawl pins.  They are too fragile.  I have shattered a couple of them, trying to finish the last little bit in the middle.

And, yes, they take a long time to make.  Usually several hours for one of the long spirals and two whole days for the one that won the ribbon.  The moravian stars I can do in about an hour.
