Hi! I used this picture tute ( http://pinterest.com/pin/175007135491349107/ ) I found on Pinterest to make this bag.  The directions are in a language I can not read, so I winged it based on the pictures.  I added interfacing to my bag in addition.  

I started with a 7 inch square and used a large spray bottle bottom to round off the corners.  From there, I just measured each piece against my square. I like the look of the bag, but without knowing the deminsions, I think I'll go about constructing it a little differently. Also, next time, I'll add a handle and sew the lining in the "inside out" method to get a seemless interior.  The round corners were a little difficult and I managed to get a few puckers. The picture shows some buckling, but that is just the wads of fabric I stuffed inside to give it some weight for the pictures.

New-ish to sewing, but I have a question...what is the point of the brown and white checkered stuff? Just so you don't have exposed edges, or is it for something specific?
