Button Wreaths!

I actually made these wreaths back in 2009, but I never posted them on Craftster and I thought you all might like this idea.
They are easy to make. Take a styrofoam wreath, cover it in strips of felt and glue buttons onto it with a hot glue gun. That's all!

these are really cool looking!!! does the layer of felt provide uniform color behind the buttons, or is it more about helping the buttons adhere? also, does the felt bond to the foam with hot glue, or some other adhesive?

I mainly used the felt to have the same colour background, but I think it also helps the buttons adhere.
I attached the felt with double sided tape.

Indeed, it is a simple design. It's the buttons themselves that make the wreaths so pretty.
And I have a rediculously large stock of buttons...

I also had some doubts before I started making these wreaths.
For a button addict hot glueing them feels like 'harming' your pretty buttons.

Indeed it does- but you know what? I got this awesome button-collection for Xmas that now I CAN actually glue them on things, because for the first time ever, I have more than I can resonably use- and I am afraid, someone is going to end up with a button-clock for a present
