Redwork Reindeer

My dad said that he would love for me to stitch something up for him so I did this redwork reindeer for him.

It is on a scrap piece of fabric (cotton). I framed it this morning but the picture was so dark and horrible-I will definitely try to take another one in the frame.

This might be one of my favorite of your pieces!  It reminds me so much of my family's cabin on the Sandy River not far from where you dad live.  The colors are just right, the style seems like just the era, but it's WAY cooler than any of the embroider that would have actually been there.  I like the look on the deer's face, too.  Not that wide-eyed, innocent doe, no sir, this buck knows a thing or two and won't hesitate to teach you if you don't shape up.
