We recently moved, and in our new placed there is a small storage space under the steps.
There was a solid door in the opening, but I knew I wanted that space to be for my girls.
So I took it off, and put their bed and a few blankets in there.  They use it randomly on
their own, but now that I have finally finished this little door, they will be sleeping in there
at night.

I wanted to paint it white to match the framing, but DH said he reeeeaaaalllyy loves the wood
grain, so I am leaving it this way.... for now.  There is a small gap, so it could have been about
1/3" wider, but it works.  And I am happy with it.

C&C Welcome.

Cute little handle I got from UrbanOutfitters.com!

Love the little door, you are a stronger person then me, with that blank canvas I'd be painting that little door every color in the rainbow with little puppy/kitty silhouettes dancing everywhere.
"Ohh what was that hubby you wanted it blank, opps, I didnt hear that, I heard do what ever you like, lol."

My next project in line is a TV stand, which I do plan on leaving wood grain because I picked the boards
with some rough spots in it.  And I hope it turns out as good as I see it in my mind.  Maybe after I'm done
with that he won't mind for me to paint the door.  I hate to not take his likes into consideration because I
always do things how *I* want them.  So for now he gets what he wants.

I had a place under the counter in the kitchen as a child. It was so comforting to know there was a place only I could fit in to.

Such a great idea for your girls. Smiley

In our last place there was a big storage/pantry type room.  It was PERFECT for my girls.
But we do with what we have, right.

Great Idea. My Toy Poodle would have loved to snuggle into that cozy spot. Hopefully, I'll be able a closet room for my dog too.
