My father-in-laws 65th bday party was this weekend.  My husband suggested a John Deere tractor on his cake and we looked to buy him a little toy one.  I couldn't find one anywhere so at the last minute made one instead.  The cake is chocolate sponge with chocolate ganache filling.  Covered with fondant and buttercream accents and the tractor is gum paste.  It was a big hit.

Ahh Im so envious! I wanted to get my sister a "farm" cake for her birthday (but I live out of state so I just had to order it from a bakery) and it looked NOTHING like this. You did such an awesome job.
