Steampunk Candle Holder

I had this taper candle holder/lantern thing sitting around forever. Decided it was perfect for my partner for the Steampunk for the home swap.

I painted the wood with hammered copper spray paint, added a string to the dowel that pulleys up the candle and an old lantern part to wind the string around:




I wanted to attach the string to a pulley system, but couldn't figure out how to do it without making the piece even taller than it was. All in all, I think it turned out pretty good.
