Inspired my my swap partner, tapestrymlp and her love of Harry Potter and her house - Hufflepuff, this tree skirt was born. I can't tell you how much fun it was to work on...although I was pleased when it was finished Cheesy I need to start work on one for my tree now.

There is an owl, spell book, removable wand, sorting hat, winged key, scaly dragon panel with dragon egg, Deathly Hallows, golden snitch, a Weasley type sweater panel, Butterbeer label and tankard, levitating Christmas candle, owl post letter, pygmy puffs (hope they don't start singing!), Professor Helga Hufflepuff, sweets from Honeydukes...

Some detail pics

I've borrowed this photo from tapestry, so this is in it's new home with a lovely HP themed tree Smiley

Actually, all her photos are better than mine (darn cloudy winter day!) so here's the link to her post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=416881.msg4944270#msg4944270

Amazing! Great job. I've been too intimidated thus far to attempt Teesha Moore style. This might be the inspiration I need.  Wink

I made my own, but I can piece them back together and take a photo you might be able to use tomorrow if thet'll help? Hmm, maybe I could scan the pieces. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Just to show how awesome the skirt is - I had an HP holiday party this weekend. For the first half hour my guests passed the skirt around making little gasping noises and oohing and ahhhing. I had to tackle one friend to get it back and under my tree, lol.

Best swap package EVER.

I've lost a couple of the sections somewhere in my craft room, but you get the idea Cheesy

First I attached some sheets of paper together to create a piece large enough for the skirt. Then I drew a large circle the size I wanted the skirt to be using a pencil and piece of string to draw it out. I just drew around a little bowl for the centre circle. It helps if it's glass so you can see your centre mark! Then I just started dividing it into sections.

This is FABULOUS!  As a fellow Hufflepuff, I am in awe!  Love the colors, and this piece is just too special to be hidden under a tree.  If I had something like this, it would be hanging front and center (probably over my fireplace!) so that everyone could see it!  Some of those patches are extra special and so unique.  I am making notes for future TM projects!

I especially like all of the 'extras' such as the envelope that opens, the book that flips, the wand attached, etc.  It is those items that takes this project and just puts it over the top.  Your ideas are inspiring and are contributing to my ideas.  Thanks so much for taking the time to post this for me Smiley and everyone else lurking!
