Cute stuff! I'm adding this to my crafts to try if I survive (and clean up after) Christmas!

This is just too cute! Now I just need to get some paint . . .

And if we don't have Tacky Glue (I'm still slowly gathering my crafting supplies) will Elmer's work as well?

yes Elmer's would work, But tacky glue is thicker and more Tacky or sticky than Elmer's glue- also the drying time with tacky glue will be less-

Wow, I would have never guessed what they were made of.  Thanks so much for the tutorial.  I think I will try making them sometime, and maybe used the same idea to make myself a fascinator.

Sometimes you get to change the world, and other times the world changes you.

Currently drowning in the sea called PhD.

I am to the drying stage before the painting part. Yay!

Oh and I figured out how to make it so that the bottom is open (in case anyone wants to do what I did). I traced around the bottom of the main hat on the brim piece and then poked a hole in the brim piece at the center. Then carefully I cut out pie wedges to almost where my circle was. Then I put glue on the inside of the hat and held the wedges there until they stuck. Oh and I did this before I put the top on the hat, so that I could hold the main hat part on the brim tightly so it all lined up.

Oh and then I covered the pie wedges on the inside with a small strip of paper and covered that with what would have been paper towels, but I don't have any so I pulled apart some 2-ply toilet paper. Works just as well.  ^_^ I think I might try this when I have money later, and put some velvet ribbon or something similar in the inside, with a small scrap of colored silk on the top - y'know, for authenticity. ^_^

My husband is going to think I am downright crazy for making these hats. They're so cute though! (And I'm broke so crafting for free and reusing stuff is just awesome.)

Thanks again for such a delightful craft! I love learning new things.

If I had paper towels, I'd be trying these right now! They couldn't be any cuter
