I made this quilt (I use that term loosely, it's no where near worthy to be here with the other quilts in this gallery!) as a Christmas gift. It is almost all flannel, minus the cotton for the belly, nose, and corduroy for the soot sprite. I designed the pattern and made it in about a week, putting in a lot of hours each day. It is entirely machine quilted, and done using 12 inch squares. The eyes, nose, mouth, and soot sprite are hand appliqud. It ended up covering the top of a queen sized bed. The back is done with a kawaii print flannel. It is SO cozy! The person receiving it loves, loves, loves Totoro so hopefully she will appreciate it.

Thank you for your compliments.  Grin I'm very excited for Christmas, the anticipation is killing me! I'm more excited to see how my handmade gifts will go over than I am to open my own gifts. Shocked

We are big fans of Totoro. I think you did a fabulous job. Love the soot sprite. Slightly crossed eyed. Very cute. I'm sure the receipient will/was thrilled.

Hehe! I love Totoro! He looks awesome x3! I know I would love to snuggle up with a big ol' Totoro, so I'm sure your recipient will too ♥

Thank you. Smiley She was thrilled with the quilt, and couldn't believe that she had been gullible enough to believe that I was making it for someone else (I was extremely careful not to allow the front to be seen while I was working on it, but did all of the sewing while in the same room as the recipient).
