Hi there!  I made this for my fabulous partner, loves2experiment in the Ho3 swap.  She really wanted something artistic.  I'm a huge fan of watercolors, and I try to play with them as often as I can.

To make it, I first printed off the Hos in the size I wanted from the computer.  Using my lightbox, I applied the masking fluid with a thick brush around the outside of the letter (anywhere that I wanted it to stay white) and quite a ways outside of the letters.  An important thing to remember when using masking fluid is to try to get it on as thin as possible and to not use a heat gun to speed up the watercolor drying process, like I'm prone to doing.  This will sometimes lead to tearing of your paper when removing the masking fluid.  Anyways!  I also cut out a border that was just a little bigger than the letters that would lay over the masking fluid to stop any further splatterings on the rest of the paper, because I didn't want to put masking fluid over the entire page, since its not the easiest to work with on large areas.  I used many method of apply in the watercolors for this.  Applying the watercolor on wet paper, on dry paper, splattering on wet and on dry, and using a straw to blow streaks in the splatterings.  Its quite fun!  So, let it all dry naturally and then remove the masking fluid.  I had a few booboos here and there that I had to cover up with white acrylic paint, sadly.  But, all in all, I liked the finished result.

Thanks for looking!
