This hat was an experiment, felted wool with rows of non-felting yarn.  I saw something similar on the cover of a book several years ago, and it's been in the back of my mind all that time.

This didn't turn out quite the way I imagined it, so I'll be revising the idea -- but I thought it turned into a nice little hat in it's own right!

I think I'll make a scarf or some mitts in washable white wool to go with it and -- presto! --- a Christmas gift!
