While at the One of a Kind Show in Toronto, my kiddo spied some needle-felted mounts by FeltFactory.com. He was awed. Finally a craft that I can do AND he likes! And so, after a rotten day I managed a rather nice needle-felted squirrel head mount for my cheeky boy for Christmas.

My kid is rather obsessed with hunting squirrels. Thank the heavens those little buggers are fast and he can't hit moving targets with his bb gun.

Now this is the kind of head mount that I would be willing to put up on my wall. I can't stop giggling at the expression. He looks like, "Wait . . . what just happened?"  I love it!

Even the mounting is awesome. Is that felted over wood or something? And what size is this? It is so amazing.

Thanks a bunch Smiley

It's just a wooden plaque from the $ store with some paper pasted on and then painted.

This is so great!  I've just moved to a place where taxidermy seems to be everywhere so have developed a fascination with faux taxidermy... all of which means I'm pinning this!

Bwahahahahahaha!  That is fantastic!

My sick mind would like to have another one with the squirrel's body, and make a Portal-themed set out of them.  Smiley

Cute, morbid and perfect!

The squirrels in my neigborhood are pretty darn pesky. Some days, I wish the hawk in my neighborhood was a little bit hungrier!
