Awhile back, my friend's husband gave me one of his old unused military jackets (I think he is Air Force). I removed all the important patches, etc and gave them to him, so now it's just a plain military jacket. I would eat to wear it but I'd like to modify it somehow. Any suggestions on mods to a jacket?

If you don't care about sleeve length, you can shorten or remove entirely to make it vest-like.  You could also take in the side seams to make it more form-fitting.

You didn't say WHY you want to wear the jacket--sentimentality for your friend, to support the troops, or you just like the look--so it's hard to make suggestions.

How well does it fit? Is there a lot of excess fabric?
