I'm trying to decide what to make my sister for Christmas and I decided that I want to make her some butterbeer sugar scrub.  Problem is I've never really made any bath/beauty products before  Wink  I've been able to piece the basics together on how to make a sugar scrub, but I have no idea how to mix the oils to make a butter beer fragrance.  Do any of you have any ideas?  Any details that you might have would be appreciated.  It is a butterscothcy-vanillaish fragrance for those who are not Harry Potter fans.  THANKS!!!

Oh, how fun! I would definitely use brown sugar instead of white, for a richer, molasses smell that will go well, plus brown sugar is more gentle on the skin. If you don't have time to order a fragrance online, then I would just go to your local craft store and buy a vanilla fragrance. If you do have time to order online you have tons of options.
Buttercream and snickerdoodle might work, you can browse their other fragrances too~

Another company that is good is this one~
They actually have a butterscotch fragrance!

Either of those companies I would vouch for!

You *might* be able to go to Walmart and get Lorann brand flavor oils and use those. I've heard of them, never used them. Do not try to use vanilla extract or other extract because the alcohol based extract will separate from the oil based sugar scrub.

As for the scrub itself, just add a few drops (maybe start with 10, go up to 25 or so) to your oil mixture. I would fill the jar up with brown sugar about 3/4 of the way, then add oil (olive oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil) and then stir in your fragrance. As you're pouring the oil in, go slowly as it sinks into the sugar. I like to have just a couple of millimeters of oil over the top of the sugar after it's all soaked in.

Thank you Mare-Mare!!  Fabulous instructions for me to follow.  I didn't realize I shouldn't add vanilla extract in there and I totally would have.  I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question!!!  I'm off to order some butterscotch fragrance Smiley
