Hi there!  My lovely partner, loves2experiment, in the Ho3 swap had a Ho Ho Ho theme that I chose to do.  I really wanted to make her something arty and mixed media with blocks.  The design kept changing in my head, and I eventually landed on birds!



The base of the bird is done in paperclay.  Before it had completely hardened, I poked the wire where the legs would attach so that I could glue them in later.  I covered the bodies in acrylic paint, as well as glitter, paint pens, stamped letters, stickers and other fun stuff.  ^_^  The beak of the bird is a dab of hot glue painted with black acrylic paint.  The blocks I painted white and then attached a square of scrapbooking paper to each side.  And the Ho's in silver are acrylic paint.  I made their hats out of felt and some mini wired silver garland.  I think their little hats are my favorite thing about them.  There was a lot of giggling involved while making them and applying their hats.  I made the presents out of packaging cardboard and then covered it in oragami paper that I had and added ribbon.

 I absolutely love these! I am also jealous that you got paper clay to work for you. I tried it and had a disaster. These are so adorable! Love the stamps and textures on the birds!
