I was on the Pirates of the Carribean ride at Disneyland recently and noticed there was a sign that said "Stow Yer Weapons." And I thought, how perfect would that be for a make-up case? So here's the result:

I found the image on the web (I googled pirate girl). She's crayon and embroidery, and the lettering is done in fabric pen. I've still got to make it up into a bag, but I couldn't wait to post her. What do you think?

I love her!

She is fantastic.

When you do the crayon part do you just color it in?

Great job!!!

That's great! I <3 Pirates of the Caribbean movie and ride! What kind of crayon did you use? I have some Singer brand (I think) fabric crayons and they're crap! I would love to know what kind you used to make such a great item!

I just use plain old Crayola crayons, nothing fancy!

Yeah, I just color it in until I like the intensity, and then I lay a sheet of paper over it and iron on it. The paper picks up the excess crayon and the heat makes it permanent.

I don't think I've ever thought to color on fabric.  it looks so good.....I have to try it now!   Might have to make a cute little pouch for my crayons...I always tear up the boxes Smiley
