I overcooked a batch of caramels and now I have a giant slab of hard caramel candy instead of the soft chewy variety that I give out at Christmas. I broke up some of it to mix into ice cream, but I still have a lot of it left. Any ideas how to use it?

Is it possible to gently microwave it with some corn syrup to loosen it up or is it like a rock?  I've softened Brachs caramels that way, a bag lost in the back of my cupboard.  I dipped apples in it and let it set.  Or maybe you could make caramel chip cookies (instead of chocolate chip).

Use it like toffee maybe? Just coat it in chocolate and break up and enjoy!
