hi, I am making some gifts for a blythe lover. I wanted to check my gauge against an actual measurement. Since I  don't own a doll, I could use some help. Can anyone tell me the head circumference of a blythe's head? Thanks!

It's 10.5 inches.  What are you making?

thanks so much!  Well so far I made a slouchy beret type hat with matching purse and a beanie style one. I plan to make several more hats and sweaters, dresses and such. Just wish I had a doll to model them on in the meantime.. Even though I'm using blythe specific patterns it makes me nervous to gift items I've never sized while making.
I really appreciate the measurement so much

You're welcome!  I just found this online: http://loveblythedoll.com/2009/04/blythe-measurement/
It shows lots of measurements, in centimeters and inches.  It says the head circumference is 10.75 inches rather than 10.5, but I measured several times and kept getting 10.5!  It's not that big a difference, though, and some of it depends on the doll's hair too, I suppose.  I have to warn you that I have downloaded several Blythe clothes patterns that did not print out to the right size.  The measurements in the link above will be a good guideline for you.  Good luck, have fun!
