Since a child I allready couldn't stand the sight of those sticky strips hanging above the table to catch flies..I tought it was terrible for those flies to stick on such a thing for hours while making so much noise for hours while they must have been suffering like hell..Last year I had a flyplague at my house and I used a spray that I found in the closet left by the last owners of my house. So I started spraying..Some of the flies fell down in an instant but I was so flabbergasted the day after that I saw that a lot of them were still half alive ..I Said to myself..Never Again..I never had what they call Green fingers but I decided to get me some carnivore plants and I found two of them last week which I called Audrey 1 and Audrey 2 after the Carnivore plant in The Little shop of Horrors (movie)(In the meantime I found another store where I can get them cheaper but smaller and will get me 2 more later this week) I Think we have to respect life in any way it comes and I try to be vegetarian myself and most of the time I succeed in that..Anyhow I know that my little plants wont eat all those flies (if it would comes to a flypflyplague again but it is a more natural way I think..I painted the flower pots with inktense pencils ..

Very cute! I love how you striped the rims of the saucers. Very whimsical.

A suggestion for keeping your plants happy..they like a lot of humidity. A shallow tray underneath them with pebbles and water helps. I use aluminum pie trays under my tropical moisture lovers. As the water evaporates, it adds moisture to the air around them. I also found this website to have thorough information: http://www.carnivorousplantnursery.com/info/growing.htm A google of 'carnivorous plants care' brought up many others. I used to have a fly trap. They are cute, and fun to watch. I hope yours help to solve your fly problem.
