Craft Your Daily Reflections--based on Leafcutter Designs Sky Scarf concept

I've been checking the sky every day, too. I think I need to make myself some sort of reminder to check it at lunch (put something in my lunch bag, I think), because I haven't remembered at 11:00 every day (usually later).

I was just talking with my sister and was saying that I'm going to plot out my spiral and get the first set of knots done this weekend, so about 3 weeks worth! Pictures to follow soon...

I have a calendar. So i can mark my colour choice and strip up a week or two at once. Tho if im in the sewing room at 4. I will add on.

OOH that's a good idea sloth! I think I'll do that as well so I don't forget any days ^^

...I realized I'm really bad at the whole "Finishing off/changing colors" thing with crochet U.U Maybe a quilt IS the better way to go

This is indeed not a "get it done quick" type of craftalong...isn't it hard for many of us to slow down our usually craft like the wind style?

I caught myself playing catch up and actually felt a bit guilty...but then I forgave myself with a reminder that I did stop to look at my sky and record it...but I also want to give myself the few minutes each day to actually knit...

I think as long as you reflect on why you are doing your project and becoming aware of the many sides of yourself, your weaknesses, your strengths, your daily interactions with nature and those around you, playing catch up or designating a time to do your project is perfect!

It IS hard.  I have failed. I was doing it, but I forgot way more often to look at the sky and I have not had a chance to sit and make a row.  I really wanted to play! Maybe I'll try again starting in February?

I know it must be hard for people with children to find time in the day....I kept saying that it was only going to take 15 minutes of my day, and yet, on some days, I did not even spend 5 minutes for myself!   I am trying to get into a routine: walk in after work, take my dog on a walk, brew tea, open mail, knit my sky, meditate, then go nuts!

I've been really good about taking pictures every day at 1:00 pm mostly because I have my phone set to a very loud alarm  Now that I have my yarn I'm kind of paralyzed to start though as I can't seem to choose a pattern.  After days of looking I think I will just go with a wide stole knit garter/stockinette on big needles.  Most of the patterns I like won't show well with all the gradations in colour.  Tonight is the night for catch up!

I love your after work routine always!

If I had to do it all again, I would have picked chunkier yarn on larger needles...the scarf is going to look blended by the time it is done...nice, but I like the separation of the days to be more obvious!  It is a bit tedious when you have a run of days that are dreary...I am looking forward to the end of the month when I can use some of my nice heathered orange yarn to beighten things up!

Here is my scarf through January 14...as you can see, we are having dreary, cloudy, cold wintery/raining/snow days...with more to come!

What a big change from one week to the next!  are you weaving ends in?  I've never knit carrying all the yarn , I kind of think it will look way heavier on one edge.  Not sure if that would drive me nuts or not
