paperbeau--thanks for showing your scarf!  Isn't it fun to see how the sky changes over just a week!?  So far, mine is mostly blue...I never realized how many bright blue skies we had in winter...I just assumed it would be dingy and dark, dreary....it is freezing,but the skies have been blue...

I'll post my week scarf tonight as well...before I do today...which is...no surprise...bright blue!

I'm loving the daily picture and will try and continue taking them after my yarn arrives.  I'll have to teach myself photo collaging at the end of the year!

While waiting I'm trying to decide on a pattern for my scarf turned into a wrap.  yesterday I had the revelation that a weaving project would be equally awesome

I wish I had thought about weaving the scarf...I have no patience but to do a row or two a day would have worked for me...hmmm...

In the meantime, I am trying to figure out how to add Jan 6, Wedding Anniversary, to my scarf...I was thinking of printing it on some ribbon and then weaving it in on that day...any ideas?

what about using some ... bridal type ribbon, lace or trim. to hint at wedding?

thanks, sloth!!  I was thinking of deconstructing my actual wedding dress anyway...I could use a piece of lace off of it!!

I might need to frog a bit of my scarf to knit it in...or maybe I will just sew it on and remember future dates in advance!

love the idea of incorporating events into your project Just looked up frogging - hehe! I was about to do the same for mine and swap to bigger needles, but I really like the ones I'm using -they were a gift from my aunt, even if they are a bit small. What do you all think? Swap to bigger ones, or keep going?

PaperBeau, I'd say swap to bigger ones since we're only 8 days in! And then, if you find your prefer the look of the smaller one, you can  re-do it again (unless you're a newbie knitter like me and it would take you a month to do that!).

I'm heading to the store momentarily to get my fabric and hoop. My spiral pattern is a little bigger than I expected, so I'm glad I waited  and didn't just guess on the hoop size!

What size are you using?  I am using US 4...

Here is the first half of the first strip. It will be 22x17 rectangles. Finish size should be around 45x51. I think.  I have so many patterns sketched the i figured i hadb etter jump in.   i do plan on marking the seasonal change with one patch in a "seasonal colour" the patch before the date. (so between march 19 and 20 sky colour there will be a bright fresh spring green...)
