I decided that I want to delineate each month, so I am going to use a pale orange between months...pale orange is generally the color of the morning sunrise outside my window as I drink coffee before going to work...it looks good with my blues and greys... Cheesy

great idea!

I bought my yarn today :-)

I went for a light blue with a hint of white, for days with blue skies with a few white clouds here and there;
A crisp clear blue for cloudless skies;
A dark blue and grey blend for stormy days;
A colour called 'peapod' for overcast days. I'm going to use white yarn instead as the colour wasn't showing up against the light blue.

Hope these 4 colours will be adequate. Am going to be catching up tomorrow!

Katara, that is a great combination and you keep it very simple that way.

I agree! I know I went a little overboard with my floss purchase, so I think I'll sort through them, pick out the most likely candidates and return the rest... I have 5 colors for the first 5 days so far:

1- pale grey (168)
2- light blue (827)
3- whitish gray (762)
4- light grey (318)
5- blue (813)

I might keep a couple more of the blues and maybe one shade darker for the grey.

I haven't drawn out my spiral, yet, but I need to do it by tomorrow. I'm heading to Jo-Ann's tomorrow to buy some buttons and some brown fake fur, and I'd like to get a piece of fabric for this project and a hoop, and probably needles. I have a 25% off my purchase coupon, so I should be all set!

Yesterday evening I thought a bit about the yarn I bought and about this project. I realised that it was important for me to end up with something that I would truly like and be happy with at the end of the year. I thought about ways to add more colour and came up with a solution! My blanket/afghan is going to be a mood-and-sky-blanket! I bought more yarn today: pink, purple, yellow, green, black and white.

Basically the 1st round of each yoyo will reflect the sky and the 2nd round will reflect my mood :-) I'm super-stoked with this idea!!

I love everybody's different take on this idea. I also love how many blues and greys exist!  So pretty!

I've gotten off to a (rocky, but holding in there) start on my ATC-a-day, but I haven't gotten far enough to announce it to everyone yet ;p

I finally heard that my yarn shipped yesterday.  as I'm still receiving other things that I ordered at the beginning of December I am not holding my breath on seeing it anytime soon....I have been faithfully taking pictures though!  Its kind of neat to see how much blue sky we have in winter, it always seems like its grey and snowing (like it is today Cheesy)

I think its a fantastic idea to combine mood and sky katara!

I've been writing a list of the colors so I can keep track. Once I get all of my ducks in a row, I can just knock out a bunch of knots.

And, my sister was inspired by my participation to do her own 365 days project. She's doing a caricature a day! It started here: http://mlydon-art.blogspot.com/2013/01/happy-new-year.html and then she's continuing on her Berkshire Caricatures Facebook page.

French knots I can handle... caricatures, no way!
