Here we are. Only one more strip to add. That starts today. Then some borders and a back and it's done. Smiley

That is a beautiful remembrance of 2013 sloth!  I hope you post it in its own thread once you're done Smiley

I'm just catching up on the last couple of weeks of December and can hardly believe I've stuck with this project all year...

It's been ages since I posted in here.  I am still working on my sky ghan, though I did get a bit behind...and I can tell it will not be done Jan. 1st.  But I'm not giving up!  It will get done!  And because I'm nutty; I'm planning a temp scarf for 2014 (notice I went with the small width scarf...I think this was a good idea).  I promise to post pics when I'm finished.  Wishing everyone good luck and joy! pinkleo, will you start a new thread for a 2014 CAL? If you don't want to add to your plate, I can start one. I can't remember if anyone else volunteered to continue it.

I need to dig out my supplies to start my recording for 2014. I am simplifying my color scheme and making a list of what color floss will correspond to the sky types (blue, mostly cloudy, mostly sunny, cloudy, stormy cloudy). I need to look back at the 6 months I recorded last year to see what colors I used. I have everything I need, but I just need to set up one thing, then I can keep on top of it!

Last strips added today. Tomorrow u will find the ideal backing and make a final decision about borders. Right now I'm leaning none. Hubby thinks I should do a thin and a thick. What do you think?

I think you should do some sort of border, just to define the space. And, I think I agree with your husband (but you don't have to tell him Smiley ) about the thin and thick. Although, not too thick- maybe twice the thickness of the first one. Maybe the total border thickness could be as wide as one daily block, depending on how wide that is. I wouldn't make any section of the border wider than one daily block. So, maybe a thin border, and then a border that is the same width as a daily block.

And, thank you for reminding me to record today's sky as I attempt to complete 2014! Smiley

Your quilt is fantastic!  I think a border would be nice for definition too

I finished my scarf and will hopefully find my camera soon to take a picture.  I think if I was to ever do this again, I would knit a thinner scarf in the round so there wouldn't be so many rows.  This thing is huge Cheesy
