My final Drafting/Sewing Project for my third semester of college was to make a dress.  The teacher I had gave us dresses she designed and we had to do everything from drafting to sewing and even costing.

This was the technical illustration I had to work with.  The drafting, with corrections took me probably close to 72 hours total.  My muslin was so ugly, the neckline fit terribly and it was too long in the skirt and sleeves, and the zipper too short.

When I finished the final dress, I my fabric was a little heavier than I expected, but I think it turned out lovely.

It's also fully lined

so tell me what you think.  C&C Welcome and appreciated

I love the seam details, and your fit is fantastic - that's what 72 hours of drafting will do huh? I'm a good technical sewist, but run into trouble with fit. Maybe I need to take that course...
I hope you got a good mark, because the dress is great. Its the style of dress you'll wear until you're sick of, and I'll bet you'll get loads of compliments. Congratulations!

It's beautiful.  I love the fabrics and the fit you got is amazing.  I'm curious for your project what did the cost you came up with end up being?

I had my costing set for 10 garments, so I had my labour and materials costs at around $77, a wholesale price at $248 and a MSRP of about $497

If i brought the quantity up to 500 units, it would bring the MSRP down to about $370.  the labour put into this dress was pretty extensive, and the materials were over $40 for my dress at a retail level, wholesale it was just over $20
