from the original blog post not the pattern on ravelry  here is what i have been using

Peter Pan's slippers.

 

This is a slipper that is worked like a granny square but ISN'T A GRANNY SQUARE!
You need know the size of foot.
Them, you will work like:

Part 1:
Until the 60-70%:
Magic circle, or 4 chain joined with sl st.
Round 1: 4dc, 3ch, 4dc, 3ch, 4dc, 3ch, 4dc, 3ch. Join with sl st.
Round 2 and next: *dc in each dc, 3 dc in ring, 3ch, 3dc in ring. Repeat * around. join with sl st.
Part 2:
From 60-70% until 100% more a round:
Round 1:* dc in each dc, 4dc in ring, 3ch, 4dc in ring. Repeat* around. Join with sl st.
Round 2 and more: dc in each dc, 5dc in ring, 3 ch, 5dc in ring, * dc in each dc, 4dc in ring, 3 ch, 4dc in ring. Repeat * around. Join with sl st.


Sew for the wrong side.
 

Back to right side, enjoy your slipper, smile, be happy.

 

Abreviations:
dc: double crochet
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch

If you don't want the pointy heel, change part 2 for:

5dc in ring, 3 ch, 5dc in ring----------->this st, will be a point of your slipper.
