I've been planning a Doctor Who themed Christmas tree, since last Christmas when I found a BLUE tree on clearance at Wal-Mart. The minute I saw it I knew what  wanted to do with it.

Of course, I procrastinated all year long and ended up furiously making ornaments since Thanksgiving week. I wanted the tree to have a vintage feel to it, so the ornaments I made were not so contemporary looking and I tried to pay tribute to Nine, Ten, and Eleven, but without actually picturing any of the characters.

I am in love with how it turned out. My only regret is that the tree is only 3 feet tall Sad

There were quite few steps to this ornament.
I drew and cut out the foam stamp of the Dalek, then stamped the image on fabric. I embroidered next and added the finishing touches, like the ribbon.

These mini frames are actually made with hot glue on cardstock and then I antiqued them using acrylic paint.

I made some vintage inspired ornaments with book pages, ribbon, and some stickers I got from GetGlue.com

What would a Doctor Who themed tree be without a Tardis? This is the tree topper and just needs the light added on top.
I cut the entire thing from an old board book, assembled it, and painted it with acrylics.

Thanks so much for looking!

Your Whovian tree is just fantastic. I love the Dalek ornaments, and I think your hot glue frames are brilliant. Seriously. I've been looking for a way to make an easy craft frame and I think this just might be the answer. Awesome job!
