Hi there!  In an attempt to use up some of my spare clay, I decided to make a bunch of buttons.  I'm still in the process of glazing some of them, but so far I've gotten one color done.  These are glazed in creeping blue studio glaze.

To make these I rolled out the clay, covered it in plastic wrap and then cut each out with a cookie cutter.  The plastic wrap helped keep the edges clean and smooth.  Afterwards I used various stamps and pressed in the designs.  Once they were bisque fired I brushed on an overglaze and they were fired once again.  I'm quite happy with how they turned out.  I have a set of lime green ones being fired, and then a dark dark blue set as well.  I think I will do the rest when I start up classes again.

Thanks for looking!

I concur. They are beautiful and the stars are my favorites. Have you a project in mind for which you'll use them?

Thanks bunny1 and candy!  I don't have a project in mind for them yet.  I was thinking I might use a few to make cuff bracelets, which require a button at the end.  We'll see!

BUTTONS! BUTTONS! BUTTONS! You amaze me. I <3 you. (I may be sleep deprived, but even if I weren't, you're buttons would still be awesome. AWESOME!) I would like some of these.

These are great. I love the stars as well, and the flowery ones on the first set. You said you used a cookie cutter? What sizes are these? I didn't know cc's come in any small sizes.

The scalloped edges are approximately 1 1/3" and I used a scalloped edge biscuit cutter for it.  And the rest are 1" and I used the inside circle of a donut or biscuit cutter (the inside piece comes out and I used that).
