I have this odd corner of a room underneath the sloping roof, it used to be an attic, but it was converted into a room, the stairwell half blocked off this space and it had become a kind of library, very messy and very neglected..But with a beautiful round window..
so I decided to fix it up.
-I used some stick on lead and film to make this stained glass. It was entirely freehanded as I wanted it to look irregular. I am delighted with how it turned out!

-using inspiration from other projects on here, I created a rainbow of circles to echo the shape of the window

(hard to get a good pic of these because of the light from the window)
-the remaining bookshelf was a problem (I cut down the first one, to fit in a different corner), until I had a blinding flash of inspiration, It was too wide and sat slightly across the window, because of the low ceiling..So I cut the corner off and reversed it..it is a crude job, because I was only going to chop off the corner, but then it occurred to me to reverse it and screw it back on, brilliant!! (IMHO..lol)

-I took cupboard doors off (I left the hinges so that they can be easily put back on)...and i used scrapbooking papers to paper the shelves, these will act as home for a lamp, extra pilllows and quilts etc..i tie-dyed and made the quilt on the bed a long time ago, but I think the colours really work.

-the bed..I am actually most proud of the bed. I made it!..from scratch, it was not flatpack, but from proper lumber from a lumberyard. I cut it out and screwed it together. It was not difficult, plans from here

- I had some wood left over so I made these little rollaway storage containers for underneath.

the whole thing..

and the before pictures!

.
all in all, it was a very cheap transformation, most of what I needed, I already had. Except for the lumber for the bed and castors for the storage, they cost about $90 in total.
I still need to add some lighting and maybe a gauzy curtain at the foot of the bed, to give the illusion of privacy from the stairwell..
most of all the window gives me huge pleasure when the daylight comes in..it also looks magical at night from outside when it is lit up from inside
