I have a massive bag of tropical covered remanants!!

I am stuck on which ones to use. They are all so bright!!!!

I am stopping into the shops before I start work today Smiley

i feel like bright colors are very useful--they have so much intensity, and when necessary, they can all be toned down and unified: let's say u make the doll out of a bunch of bright crazy fabrics, but the assembled doll is looking a bit TOO bright, almost garish...u can just "distress" the doll with some dye, coffee, a watery wash of acrylic, etc.  so i say, use the fabric u have---it sounds really cool Smiley

Oh man, that is a great quote. I have the 'rules of the road' by Julia Cameron posted in every room of my house. Way too inspiring to not post everywhere I can. Tongue

As far as dolls go, I'm totally excited to make something a bit out of my comfort range. I'm definitely interested to see how I can synthesize my usual happy style with a bit of a creepier doll. I think it's going to turn out great. I'm pre-washing the fabric as we speak, and decorating our house for Christmas while I wait. I'm hoping to have a bit of an idea of what the doll will look like by the end of today...

But we all know how that goes. Usually you just sit down, and the doll makes itself. Tongue

Hahaha, that sounds very funny! I take it too literally, I know but I can see the doll sitting behind MY sewing machine. Trying to sew her own leg, or so...

BTW love that quote: "Art is not about perfection; it is about expression.  Have fun and enjoy the experience." I can use that when the doll doesn't work out  Grin (just kidding...)

Kookaloo_Star: I am doing it unusual for me, so I'll be sewing and just start without sketching. Hahaha, isn't that funny?

I would really like to know how you accidentally go fabric shopping. I'd love to give this a try.
well, I was just buying some wadding for another project, and I sort of  fell into the fabric room...
