And just so everybody knows I'm not trying to be a jerk and sneeze in the birthday cake.I was just wondering if a artist had the right to stop the swap.It's just such a weird gray issue I was curious.

We have done creepy/ugly doll swaps...I do altered dolls in "disturbing" ways, but there are not a lot of people who join those swaps... ...

I think if an artist particularly requested that it not be done, we would consider it...oooo--now I have to go look at your dolls!  I just got a new book that inspired me take apart a few more of my large collection of "sweet" dolls...maybe I will be inspired by yours!

Thanks for the kind words and thanks for clearing that up.I have had people ask to copy some of my other things for swap gifts and I was totally fine with it.Since the people were nice enough to ask and it was no biggie.
Yea I figured I don't have too much of a worry about people doing swaps of my work but I was just wondering about the artist rights.
I have been on craftster forever and I know folks are 99.9% time cool about asking things or giving credit if a project inspired something.

I was just wondering.The reason I asked is I make dolls in a certain style.My work is very dark themed though so I don't think I have to worry about folks on craftster doing a Ugly Art Dolls by Ugly Shyla swap.But I was just wondering if folks do get a sew along or a swap going.Does the artist have a right to request they not do it?

I have a friend over here in England who makes dolls in a similar style to yours UglyShyla. The first thought in my head when I saw yours was "Nicky dolls!" as she would love them! She finds old,unloved baby dolls and creep-ifies them. I've made straightjackets & suchlike for some of her creations.She's had them displayed at local galleries and they're take part in an event "Dead Dolls Funeral" once a year. Everyone loves and loathes them at the same time

I can understand that you want credit for what you made.

As long as I inspire others it is fine by me if you sort of copy my work.
Note: I don't sell my work, I just use, swap or give it away.
