One of the rules of Craftster is that you mention the link (website) or artist you got the idea, pattern or tutorial from.
Are you worried that Junker Jane isn't approving this?
We are NOT pretending to be her and we are not making this to sell or so. Mine isn't probably that JJ-style anyway, hahaha!
So I should think that that is okay, or maybe your question isn't about this?

Normally we don't really email the artist before starting a swap.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude or aggressive, so please don't think of it that way! I am merely trying to explain it. Even though I am not the organizer, I know about the Craftster rules and I dare say I know the organizers too!

You are right, wendiek--there is no intention to sell anything or claim it as the original artist...if anything, I hope we have brought attention to this artist and maybe helped her internet traffic...I never heard of her until this swap but I have been to her site several times...I know some people have purchased from her site as well...she is an inspiration just as artists from long ago are inspiration...I think we are all respectful and responsible in giving credit where credit is due.

We are not allowed to post pictures belonging to others without permission or to hotlink anything...if you see any of this, we ask that you report it to a moderator.  This is for everyone's benefit, including the original artist!

I know that some one...craftylittlem onkey maybe? did contact Tish Moore to let her know about the forum that was started here.  So some times the original artist does get contacted.  But since it tends to be made clear we are being inspired (and not making copies) by the original artist, we are not touching on copy right issues

I was just wondering.The reason I asked is I make dolls in a certain style.My work is very dark themed though so I don't think I have to worry about folks on craftster doing a Ugly Art Dolls by Ugly Shyla swap.But I was just wondering if folks do get a sew along or a swap going.Does the artist have a right to request they not do it?
