My first Cupcakes (Ghilie pattern. Pic Heavy)

Even though I've been sewing for a while, I'm still a novice.  So, making these Cupcake dolls has been quite a task for me, but I'm very happy with the way they're turning out!

A friend and I started writing a series of silly little stories starring characters vaguely based on us.  We've since added characters based on other friends.  I'm making these character dolls for my friends (and myself) for Christmas.

I have 2.5 out of 5 dolls finished and couldn't wait to show what I've got so far.  All the girls are wearing the same basic a-line dress and have an accessory or two nodding toward their story character (for example, Lee in the stories dresses sort of gothy with pink thrown in for good measure).

First up, Lee, co-main character.  She's adorable, the cutest girl you've ever seen.  She also happens to be half-troll and a homicidal axe-wielding maniac (and I just remembered that I have to make her little tufty tail)...


The second one I have finished is Hteb Nna, Usurper Mummy Queen of Peegypt (have I mentioned we started these stories when we were quite young?   )


I hope to have pics of the other 3 soon.  My own doll, Dee (the Insane), is done but still naked.  Alegna Llor, the no-good schemer and mischief-maker, and Giggles the Crystal Fairy need to make their appearances!

Ooh, if I were to do a photo-illustrated story book, I'd have so many dolls to make.  A whale, a tea drinking bee, castle guards and a kissing cow, a wild boar, an owl queen, a giant sea-going marshmallow, henchmen...  And that's just the first story, and not all the characters!

It'll be fun!
