Has anybody painted fabric before? How does acrylic work? I think I need to go to the craft store... I swear I read before of "fabric medium" which you can mix with the acrylics... I assume that makes it more flexible and not hard and breaky when it dries?

I paint on fabric with acrylics a lot. For things that are worn, they tend to crack, but I have done it one art dolls, and it never cracked. I did add a medium for making the paints thinner and more workable/blendable, but the medium feels and looks a lot like mod podge.

I have never actually painted on fabric but once in a pinch for a canvas painting I used collage-pauge (off brand of modge podge but slightly thiner) instead of slow dry blending gel.  My mom still has that painting and it hasn't shown any breakdown in the 4+ years since I painted it, so I assume it could work on fabric as well.

Just checking in, have both of my flags started and close to being done - just looking for those finishing touches.

My basement is finally finished - Craft room on one side, Bar on the other side.  Why would I ever want to come back upstairs?

My flags are done and ready to be shipped on Monday.

I can't wait for everyone's flags to come in. I am so happy with how mine turned out - I'm really excited to see them get to their new homes.

Now I have one more swap to finish, and I'll be searching for more fantastic ones to participate in. Tongue Oh swapping - you're too addictive.

Wheeeeeeww
Anyone ever have one of those moments when you realize that you've been mistaking the "sign-up" date on one swap with the "send-out" date on another?  I thought FOR SURE send-outs for this swap was tomorrow, so one flag is done and the other just needs to dry.  So.... time for me to breathe and try and nip this allergy illness in the bud (2nd time since Christmas).

Huzzah and happy monday to one and all!

I'm pretty chipper today...

1. Daughter went back to school (Hooray for getting back into a routine!)
2. Found my son's missing blanket after 2 days of frantic looking (It was at the bottom of his train track bin...darn that Thomas!)

3. I SHIPPED SHARALEE and PLAYSWITHNEEDLES FLAGS OFF TODAY!

I can't wait for them to see and (hopefully) like them!
