I"ve been busy with the holidays and my adorable nieces. When I got back I was able to do some hunting for horcruxes

I found and destroyed three. Here are my results

Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup
Owl Puff

Using the Hufflepuff colors I made an owl puff to destroy the horcrux.

Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem
Owl Puff

Using Blue and Silver colors (Ravenclaw's colors in the movies) I made an owl puff to destroy the horcrux

Nagini
Owl Puff

Using Red and Gold I made an owl puff to represent the Sword of Gryffindor.

These were knitted in the round as part of my houses Quidditch training.

His nose is simply a cotton ball over wire.
I cut a piece of wire, bent it so that it was vaguely nose shaped, then hot-glued it to his face. After that dried, I put tacky glue over the wire and put cotton on it that I then saturated in tacky glue so that I could shape it. When that had dried, I took two pieces of rolled cotton, roughly the same size, and, using tacky glue, glued them on either side so that his nose would have a more realistic shape.
When it's all dried, his nose is hard.

Project Name: What was supposed to be a 'zine turned in to a Goals book!

Brief Description: : So I started with making my Zine. And for some reason, I got thinking about the year that was soon passing, resolutions (I'm not a usual resolution person.) But I really contemplated what I want from this year, what I want to improve and all sorts of other things, and decided that I needed to make a book. I took a HUGE piece of paper and wrote down all the things I wanted to do, then made simple, measurable goals that I could handle.

Each goal has it's own page. Each page has a circle that I cut out of magazines I leafed through (man - there has been no greater time where I wished for a circle-punch) And every time I complete a goal, I get to rip off a circle and brag about it. Channelling my inner third-grader - so far it seems to be an effective technique.

If you want to see some more pictures, feel free to check out the project page. There's TONS there. Maybe it should have been a transfiguration OWL instead - but I'm really, really happy with it, and I think that once 2014 comes around, this will have so many wonderful stories behind it.

Oh crikey...I had family staying this weekend so had about 5 minutes total on the internet over the last three days and WOW I have missed so many things on here, they are all awesome and too hard to mention them all, so many lovely creative works though and mamantatoo I think that costume looks awesome so I don't think you have anything to worry about and that castle pattyofurniture is going to be epic and awesome!  The resolutions book Melissaurus is great, what a good idea!  And thanks for the compliments on the flower turning into a fish, I am now not sure what to do with him...hehehe...so far he is swimming in the fish bowl I took photos in.

I have however been making lots and lots of baby hats as can do them whilst chatting with family as don't have to think about them...done about 5 or 6 of them.  Will take photos soon, though going to add flowers and things to embellish them more I think.

I am working on mock-ups of tiny "Jayne" hats for a friend (she wants them for wedding favors) which isn't SPEW related, but needs doing for Tuesday so, they're on the docket. (Apologies for the terrible photo, got a new camera and we aren't fully acquainted yet! But at least you get the idea of the scale (That orb in the center is a US quarter.)



I've also found my recipient hospital and got the specific needs they have there for knits so am finally going to pick a pattern for my NICU and Angel Layettes for which I bought this Patons Beehive Baby sport in "Angel White" (no more dilly-dallying on the interwebsz!) and get to rockin' those needles:
