Is it Game of Thrones Jennie?  If not it's very reminiscent of it!  (That and my city right now...)
Cool I LOVE Games of Thrones!

Yay for January detention! My only WIP at the moment is my NEWT...so pretty compatible with Advanced Studies Fridays! You guys are awesome motivational witches!

Game of Thrones is a pretty good guess. Not sure if it's right or not, but I can't top it! Smiley

@pinkleo: I knew what you meant Cheesy I had forgot how much fun crocheting is!

@jennieingram: I haven't seen it yet but is it from Snow White and the Huntsman? If not, is it from the TV show Once Upon a Time? Or maybe Grimm? I don't watch either show (sadly) but it looks like something from a fairy tale. Or a fantasy story.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Defense Against Dark Arts
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Bath Bombs
Project Page Link (if available): recipe http://www.mommysavers.com/how-to-make-homemade-bath-bombs/
Brief Description: When you need to get by a Kappa in water it can be pretty tricky, but here's an easy way.  Just toss one or two of these cucumber melon smelling bath bombs into the water beside him.  He will immediately be absorbed in it rather than you.  He will love the smell of the cucumber scent, as well as be mystified by the bubbles it creates.  --Be sure to have a pouch full of these bombs to keep him occupied while you cross unnoticed!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Transfiguration
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Mockingjay Bracelet
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: Couldn't wait to put this up!  Mockingjays are birds that have been bred to repeat phrases or melodies.  What better use for them to wave your wand and place one on a bracelet?  Now you always have a recorder right when you need it most.  Don't need it for yourself?  Simply take the bracelet off and leave it in an inconspicuous place and come back for it later.  It will repeat all you need to know.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Horcrux Hunt -- Ring
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Dumbledore's Marshmallows
Project Page Link (if available): recipe http://www.joyofbaking.com/candy/HomemadeMarshmallows.html
Brief Description: As Hufflepuff Head of House I am in charge of refilling Dumbledore's office candy trays.  Everyone knows of his love for treats and especially lemon drops, but did you know he is also a fan of muggle marshmallows?  Ah, yes.  I refill that dish just about as much as the lemon drops.  Alas, Honeydukes does not seem to be fond of this muggle candy quite as much, so I usually have to make it myself or have the house elves do it.

@Jennie: Love the bracelet, and of course the stitch markers!!! Can't wait to get my hands on them! I also love the new detention badge...but is detention with Hagrid really a punishment?

@Foxy Sam: That goldfish/flower is SO wonderful!! I love how you put buttons in the bowl. Very creative.

@Patty_o: I am seriously loving the Mockingjay bracelet. You are really making me long for November!!

The only good thing about being too busy to look at this thread for a while, is coming back to loads of stunning crafts! Everything looks amazing!
I've got to say, Foxy Sam, you Horcrux project is inspired.  Shocked
And patty_o, those marshmallows look so yummy! I'd love to have a go at them myself...

(If I was talking to you about Weasley jumpers, I saw your reply but now I can't find it, sorry!)

Although the dreaded exams are eating up all my time this month, it's just gearing me up for crafting again in February, and I think the new Detention challenge is going to be the motivation I need for my stripey Weasley jumper. I've also decided to propose my first OWL! I'm really excited!

OWL Subject & Option: History of Magic (Option 3: Craft something using a vintage pattern, material, or technique)
House: Ravenclaw!
Project Name: The Rather Uninventively-Titled Patchwork Quilt
Brief Description: Quiltmaking is a traditional technique that is once again very popular in the Muggle world - and why should us witches miss out on the fun?  Tongue I've never made a quilt before, and would love to have a huge snuggly patchwork quilt of my own (a desire not at all helped by all the Studio Ghibli I watch - seriously, the number of gorgeous-looking quilts in those films!) Although I'll have to buy some extra fabrics, this will also be an excuse to utilise some of my rather eclectic fabric stash. It'll either look beautiful or a monstrosity, but I'll love it either way, hehe! The quilt will either be the size of a single or double duvet, and I should start buying and making by the end of January. I really hope it turns out nice and lasts a long time - a good quilt should be something to treasure, after all.

Oh wow I love that sweet little gold fish! So cute!
And as an update on my owl, its coming along pretty well! I havent been keeping very well with my 3 recipes a day rule, but still have been progressing. Its actually pretty insane how long it actually takes to write them out.  Depending on how long the original recipe is, sometimes its taken me 30 to 45 minutes to write 3 recipes for each of the 3 books. Ah well. I know theyll be loved and its inspiring me to get an actual desk top computer and printer (one day).

OWL Update:
I've gotten Severus's body parts complete. Now I just have to assemble him, add his hair, and paint his face. Then I get to work on my favorite part: the costumes! **flails**
