NEWT Proposal (OWL upgrade)

I'm going to be upgrading my Ancient Runes OWL proposal (it was my first, but put on hold with permission so I could do my Muggle Studies one!) to a NEWT!

It fits the criteria from the Fall Semester for OWLs, as it requires a complex chart with many symbols.  I worked on it for a month and a half before putting it aside, and since it's only 1/4 done, it'll definitely fit the 3 month +  requirement for NEWTs!  It's a birth announcement with Beatrix Potter characters reading or holding books bordering the edge.  I'm stitching it on 28-count Aida, since I couldn't find fine linen easily.  It matches the nursery decor we've been doing in Evie's room, and I'd really like to have it finished by her 1st birthday near the end of March.

First I want to say that I won't comment on the 20 or so pages that appeared while I was gone, but you are all awesome. All of you!

Class: History
House: Gryffindor
Name of the project: Scarf for my FIL
link:http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Andreann/this-way-up
details: If you know Qubec's winter, you know cold. Icy bitting wind, -25C temperature and very little sunshine. This 100% wool scarf was charmed to keep my FIL's neck hot and warm when you just can't keep denying you'll need to go out and go to the grocery store even if there's frost on your house's windows.

Maman, that's a lovely scarf!

@indigo_roses: Did you use a drop spindle for the yarn? I love it! I've recently learned to use a drop spindle and am trying to find one so I can start spinning myself.

Actually, this is my first completed yarn spun on the wheel that my dad built me for Christmas. Prior to this, all of my spinning was done on a drop spindle. I can't wait to see what you make once you get one!

( I tried really hard to make a fancy graphic for this challenge, but the computer isn't letting me do it >_<. So imagine a nice quidditch pitch as a picture. Maybe you could help me on that, Abbee?)

GRYFFINDOR QUIDDITCH CHALLENGE:
It's All About Stratgie!

For this challenge you will need to complete either: 1: representing a muggle-based board game (very compatible with a class assigment! Wink ) 2: Create your own boardgame by either making one from scratch or altering an existent one or 3: repurposing a board game into something different (ex: make wall art out of a scrabble board and pieces).

You need to be a Gryffindor in order to participate to this challenge.
Fulfilling this challenge will earn you 1 ruby.
If you're not yet on the team, fullfilling this challenge will earn you a spot if there's one left, and by making so you earn 2 ruby.
This challenge is compatible with the main class assigment.
It does not give house points.

Have fun!!

Progress on Snape, or his head at least. I didn't post any photos before because I was looking for my digital camera. I'm tired of that ugly desk in my photos because I'm using my cellphone!

CraftyLadyMJ, your pics are not showing up for me.  If you are using the Quick Insert Photos feature on Craftster, then I would suggest going to your Picture Hosting and just click Upload Photo then Upload/Submit.  You don't have to select files just click.*  (Sometimes I noticed that with the new Craftster photo upload that pics get stuck in limbo.)

*Detailed Instructions on what I'm talking about if not familiar with navigating Craftster
1. Go to the yellow (ruler looking) bar and click on My Craftster.

2. A drop down menu should appear.  In that menu click My Picture Hosting.
3. You will then be taken to your photo gallery.  In the upper right, you will find the selections of Home · Search · Profile · Upload Photos · Logout, click Upload Photos. (It under white Help with corkboard background)
4. New page appears, "Craftster Photo Hosting Image Upload."  Scroll down and click Upload/Submit.  You do not have to select any files to upload if you do have pics in limbo.
5. New page, pics that were in limbo should now appear, click Process.
6. Any limbo pics should be fixed and now show up in posts.

Hope that works for you because after your fabulous DADA, I'm dying to what else you crafted.
