After gawking over chughes HP tree in the HPH2 swap, I sat right down and made the Sorting Hat for my own tree. He sort of came out looking like Oogie Boogie/Creature from the Black Lagoon, but he'll pass and find a home on a lower branch.

What are you talking about?  That is awesome, pottermouth!!!  I freaking love it!!!!

Pottermouth, it looks exactly right! What's it made of?  Oh yeah... awesomeness!
(but really, what else?)

Thank you, everyone. He is made from felt scraps and I sewed two lengths of chenille stem inside so I could bend the features a bit. The folds and wrinkles were just stitches, so a very simple and fast project.  Our Elf on a Shelf is itching to wear it so maybe I'll post a pic after we know what house he's in.  Cheesy

@Supermutts: Fab Geminio!  Reminds me of my mom always asking "If you want some cheese with that whine." ...yeah, cracked herself up with that one often Cheesy

@tiamatfire: Kiss THANK YOU!!! I will be diving into that site & recipe very soon.

@Maman: That hat is OWLdorable!  Grin...couldn't resist!  You can definitely repeat a class, but you only get House Points for the first turn-in (Your 1st Divination).  If you were searching House Points, then might I suggest perhaps Transfiguration (owls are birds) or Flying (this hat is quite an attention-getter & perhaps it is bewitched to enhance night vision).  If you wish to submit to another class, just post reply here, and I'll update entry. Grin

Gulping gargoyles! Winter Semester rocks! Better get my broom in gear...
And here I was thinking we would have a slow start because of the holidays. Cool

@pattyo: Those hairbows are AMAZING!  Just WOW! Shocked

@FreakieGeekie: plain does not equate unfab....It's a fantastic and thoughtful dog toy (because we know how dogs would love to get a snip at a kneazle..sadly they don't stand a chance Wink)...and your toy is perfect for a Care of Magical Creatures assignment.

@jenleahlynn: :::cheers from Gryffindor Common Room as 2nd Year jenleahlynn arrives:::  I must admit I have yet to try this muggle game of Minecraft; I must check it out!  Love your phoenix ornaments!

@pottermouth: Sir Hat proclaims, "That is one fine ornament!  You should place it right in the middle for all to see."

Class: Herbology
House: Gryffindor
House Challenges: Quidditch (Chaser Position) & Scavenger Hunt (Red/Gold)
Project Name: Team Spirit Practice Mitts
Brief Description: I am trying my darnest to make the Gryffindor Quidditch Team this semester, which means lots of practice.  During my practice, I noticed my hands were getting pretty beat up Tongue (I don't have official quidditch pads at home...maybe I'll get some under the tree soon...fingers crossed) so I whipped up a pair of protective mitts, in Gryffindor colors of course.  My fingers are free to grasp the quaffle and my palms stay out of the biting wind.  Now, I'm sure to get a position as Chaser! Grin

Project Picture:

Team Spirit Mitts Stats
Yarn Used: Red Heart Team Spirit
Wand Size: H hook
Pattern Used: I made it up, but took notes if anyone wants it.
