I'm soo excited for OAHPT. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to try to make it a HPC project. I'll have to do some research, and try REALLY hard to be vague enough to keep it secret!

Maman - for the buckles, what about foam board or something you could cut and then spray? Will you have the same durability issue?

Brief Description:  Over the weekend I decided to break out the ice cream machine and whip up a batch (ever though it was freaking freezing).  I flipped through my favorite ice cream cookbook, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home, and found a recipe for Queen City Chocolate Ice Cream.  It's a basic chocolate ice cream base with cinnamon and cayenne pepper added in before churning.  The ice cream is not hot but it does leave you with a warming sensation in the back of your throat on the finish.  I think it may be the prefect representation of "fire and ice"

I didn't realise you work in theatre jennie, me too I'm a sparky on WarHorse in the west end. I occasionally do costume associate work or stage management too, except now I'm taking a second degree I don't really have enough time for those kind of jobs except ad hoc over the summer setting up and disappearing straight after tech. What you up to at the mo?

That's awesome!  I'd love to go see War Horse, but it's not in the budget to get my butt up to NYC.  I trained as a costume designer, but now I work as a costume shop manager at a university in Kentucky.  I love working with students though, and my crafty skills get flexed more doing this than designing.  My dream would be about 20% design and 80% build.  You should see my little shop though.  The student workers are each a Head of House, and they compete for House Points.  They divide up the Costume Technology & Prod students between them as their House members.  At the end of each semester I decorate in the winning House's colors, and we have a "Feast".  I even made an app on my phone to record House Points whenever I award them.

Holy Crap I'm casting on for my NEWT! This is so exciting! Also, socks. About three pairs on the go.. I think I'm out of classes that I can make my socks fit into though. But we shall see.

Brief Description: I crocheted this hat with stripes like the pattern on some kneazles, and added the pom-poms to the ends which are like a kneazle tail. So if I come across a kneazle while scrolling through Hogwarts I can use my hat pom-poms to charm my way onto it good side.

Project Name:Fireside throw...a.k.a my first big project!
Brief Description:
My family has been saying that I have too much yarn..."Nahh" I scoff as a mountian of yarn falls out of its bin after its been rifled through....Ok maybe I have too much BUT theres nothing more annoying than for inspiration to hit me on the head and have to wait a month (exagerated) before I can get to the craft store. Iv never crocheted anything big mostly small bags, dolls and some hats so a weeks worth of searching came up witha a pattern from a copy of Crochet Today (jan/feb 2009). Granny hexes, little ends to weave if i do it right and I get to be random in the color choices. Im planning on doing 3 to 4 motifs a night or more as I get faster...I still havent desided if i want it as big as the original with 127 motifs but by my math i could be done with it by the end of term.

Abbee- went to the craft store on Sunday and found lightweight interfacing (the PF whatever) in black! So happy about that. How'd your skiing go?
