@TechnicolorAquahearts: Mmmmm! I haven't had banana bread in forever now I'm totally craving it.

@noodle-bug: That is so cute! And what a neat technique. I also like how it's adjustable. I gotta keep that in mind for some other projects. Your hand warmers sound like they'd smell delicious. Where do you get lemonbalm?

@Eiseldora: How adorable!

@Melissaurus: Words cannot describe how much I love this!!! Awesome freaking job!

@pinkleo: Wowza! That's a lot of work! And all for charity?? I can't wait to see what you think up next. I think my favorite may be the orange one in the first picture. And I love the yarn colors in that first picture too! What kind of yarn is it?

@MamanTattoo: Those are adorable mittens. They look like they're straight out of a story book. And that tiny hat! I love handspun yarn. I like how it's a little wonky with the sizing. I think the end result is gorgeous.

@AugustBell: I love that! I have to keep this in mind for baby showers!

@Supermutts: WOW! That turned out awesome. It looks like so so so much work! I bet you are quilted out for a while. Lol. Did you give it to her yet?? I bet she will love it!

The jack quilt is great - you did an amazing job and it looks brilliant! There's no way anyone will tell about the mistakes, it just makes his hair look even messier  Grin Grin

@noodle-bug: That is so cute! And what a neat technique. I also like how it's adjustable. I gotta keep that in mind for some other projects. Your hand warmers sound like they'd smell delicious. Where do you get lemonbalm?

I struggled to find lavender, but after lots of ''hippy'' shops (the type of place that sells incense and tarrot cards and those kind of things - I'm not being derogatory but I don't know what else to call them!) I found one with a whole selection of dried herbs, so I decided to get some lemon-balm too. You could always use essential oils which most health-food type shops will have a range of in stock. Soap making suppliers would also good places to look.
They take about 5 mins a piece to make (have a big spoon or a funnel handy) so they're a great quick gift to make if someone you love is under the weather. They are quite cheap too - a pair of hand warmers and 2 comforters from one pair of socks and a few pennies worth of rice & herbs.

in other news, I just learnt to purl! I doubled my knitting skill in one go! I may have a project to share by the end of the day Cheesy

Class: Study of Ancient Runes
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Steven Moffat Mashup Bracelet
Project Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=419036.0

Brief Description: For my Study of Ancient Runes homework, I've decided to commemorate the work of writer & producer Steven Moffat, who created the BBC shows Coupling and Sherlock, and is the current lead writer for Doctor Who.  My commemoration took the form of a charm bracelet.  Smiley

The charms include: smiley face, teacup, scarf, key, fob watch, violin, laptop, gas mask, umbrella, Police Box, Big Ben, entwined hearts, sweater, pistol, Union Jack, mobile phone, bad wolf, suitcase, and bananas.  The beads are a mix of glass, Czech glass, and stone in shades of cobalt, black, smokey grey & clear.
