my partner received for the junker jane swap today - so I can finally post them here Smiley

Challenge: Appirition
House: Ravenclaw
Project:
This little lady has been left on the beach - between the sun and the salt water all her colour has been cleaned away...

she is linen and cotton, I drew on the stripes with wax crayon and then ironed most of the wax out to smoosh them, and then used thread, buttons and ribbon to decorate - did a bit of breaking down of the fabrics, then I made a super-saturation of salt, left her in it overnight, and it took 4 more nights for her to dry!

Challenge; Divination
House: Ravenclaw
project:
I went a very different way with this geisha doll,
she is heavily tea soaked, as well as being schooled in tea ceremony, so of course she will be a shoe-in for our tasseomancy study this term Wink

Challenge: Charms
House: ravenclaw
Project:
Even after the doll and the extra required I didn't think I'd really nailed the junker jane style, so I had one more attempt at lifting the confundus charm that I must have been under by making this rag doll

and with that I have completed all the classes this term Cheesy woop woop! better pull on my muggle costume to hide from the snatchers while i hunt those horcruxes...

ohhh good luck ant bee. Ah, what am i saying, you don't need luck!

challenge: Flourish & Blotts
house: ravenclaw
Idiom:
A turn in time saves nine

in the muggle world, it is sometimes better to do a little work today if it will mean the problem doesn't get worse and need a lot of work tomorrow... well, in the wizard world we know that if we lose track and forget to do the work today we can use a time turner to rectify our error, but it's still better to do it now not leave it til later!

Since I'm broke 'til Friday, my sister was going to buy me some thread today when she and our mom went to pick up dog food. When they got back, our exchange went like this:
Me: So did you get me a spool of black thread?
Sister: Thread? Um, I bought you a flexible curve for when you start on your Assassin's Creed hoodie. *hands me a flexible curve*
Me: Thanks but I needed the thread now.
Sister: Eh-heh, I forgot.
Me: *sigh*

Man!!!! Don't open a cage of pixies!  Tongue That is a mess you don't wanna clean up!!!  Grin

"Opening that cage of pixies will get you a broken wand and a dirty cauldron...." lol

I think I made myself giggle a little too much with this one...

based on "don't open a can of worms" or "opening a can of worms"

"don't want to count my dragons before they're hatched!"
I thought of that too! beat me to that... Grin

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Thanks, Noodlebug! I'll bring a vial of Felix Felicis anyway, just in case. I really have to find an income, I'm getting dangerously low in the crafts dedicated "'Gotts Box" over here!

(That's a 'piggy bank' or 'budget' in the muggle world.  Not an idiom, I wouldn't say, but I thought it up while thinking of them and wanted to share.  As you may have figured, it's short for "gringotts box" and the children's 'Gotts Boxes are often in the shape of little boxy vaults.)

Those dolls of yours have such character, btw. Really cool!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Flying and Gryffindor Feb Extra Credit
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Art Cuff
Project Page Link (if available): n/a
Brief Description: Inspired by the recent mini art quilt swap, which I had a lot of fun participating in, and my new metal stamping supplies (still getting the hang of the smaller "canvas"), I made this little fabric cuff. It's more colorful than my usual style, so it will definitely make me more visible. Especially against all the snow we are supposed to get this weekend!

Lovely cuff Abbee!
And august...You're going great! It will look awesome Smiley

Noodle, I love  the Tea-Geisha! Cheesy

Does anyone want to see my OWL PROGRESS??

Here's the wig. I'm pretty happy with it, thought I could use even more hair, and I still have some, but at this point, I'm tired of rolling wool around dowels, so this satisfy my and my daughter Smiley

And boots for the little guy. I ended up designing the pattern myself. I still have it somewhere so anyone that'd like it I'll probably get it up on ravelry. The sole is true leather and the yarn is a wool blend, I believe. They are quite spacious but Merrick loves them, and they are very practical for this time of the year!!

and place for another heart challenge?
Challenge: Feb extras
House: GRyffindor!

I had already made the blue set, but my children would argue which one could play with the tent, so I made another one, red. I HAD to put a heart on the red sleeping bag, and My daughter asked me to add one to the blue one.
