So after I made this Jake hat for my husband, I had my little (10 y/o) cousin request a hat too. I told her to look at some pictures of hats and I would try and replicate it for her. She calls me back and sends me a picture of Lumpy Space Princess, then I remembered I showed her a picture of the previously mentioned hat. So a week later I have a hat with some attitude.

She's crocheted in single crochet, lumps, band, and arms are double. I used all stash and tried my darnedest to write down my pattern. It's a medium in kids. Let me know if someone wants it, Embarrassed I will try and post it, although I've never done that before. Might have to walk me through it. Wink Anyways, please tell me what you think.

Sorry it took me so long, had to rewrite pattern due to some discrepancies on my notes. If you happen to make one I'd love to see your take and results. Again I'll apologize ahead of time, this is my first pattern. Let me know if there is anything I need to edit. Smiley

*Make 3 "lumps". Attatch 2 to sides and other to top.

Star:
Row 1: Start w/ magic ring in sc, sc 5 in 1st ch, slst to 1st st.
Row 2(1st arm): Ch 3, slst in your last st of that ch, sc in the st before that, then slst to the next ch.
Repeat the last row/arm until you have 5 arms of the star finished. Slst closed, leaving a long tail to sew or crochet star onto hat.

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in ea. st, sl st. 5 dc.
Row 5: Ch 3, decrease, bobble/popcorn stitch, decrease, slst. 3 dc.
Tie off, leaving a tail, weave in end. Make two arms to sew onto front of hat.

Eyes:
Using the black yarn I made an 8ct sc magic ring. Left a long tail to use to sew/crochet onto the hat and embroider the eyebrows. Make two or use buttons.
This hat makes a childs medium/large hat.

Thanks silentblair, I know you want these lumps! Cheesy I'll try and type it up in a manner that would make sense to someone other than myself. My notes suck when I crochet. Gimme a day just to make sure I get this right. I don't wanna squeeze some poor unsuspecting child's head.  Tongue

Thanks all. Here is another shot with the happy recipient. Her sister told me that when she saw it she screamed and just kept saying "Oh My GLOB!"  Guess I did a good job?

Enjoy the pattern!
