I came across this wonderful pattern for a crocheted shawl that I wanted to try out.  I cannot remember which magazine it came from, but when I come across it, I'll try to remember to credit it here.  It was an older pattern.  Anyway, I saw it, and decided to make it for my mother in law for Christmas.  Purple wasn't my first choice in color, but it was the one I could find enough balls of yarn for.

A different view.

I'd never been brave enough to actually wash something I've crocheted, but I had washed it, and even put it in the dryer for a bit and it stayed together!

Of course it stayed together! You're too good a crocheter for any other possibility. Consider the intricacy of the crocheted runner you made for me. Need I say more?

I like that the shawl looks so warm. Your MIL is going to love it (and if she doesn't love it, she doesn't deserve to receive it, so you could just send it straight to me!!!!! You do still have my address, don't you? LOL)
