I spent all day yesterday working on this buck while the men were out hunting. My main goal was to use up some of the colors I have in abundance and to try out random stitches. I didn't really follow any pattern besides tracing the outline of the buck onto my fabric before I started. The whole thing took me about 4 hours. I didn't finish the back yet because I haven't decided if I like it how it is.

C&C welcome. Sometimes I look at it and it's too busy for me and I hate the antlers, other times I look at it and I love it.

I love how that turned out! great way to use colour and pattern inside an identifiable shape.  Makes me really want to try this.  Hmmm maybe xmas shapes with various reds and greens inside...

I like it.  The colors remind me of a unicorn or that night walker from Princess Mononoke.

Yes and no. This is only my fourth embroidery project, so I read up on online tutorials for different stitches like the split stitch, french knot, and herringbone variations. When I got bored with those, I did make some up or just filled in spots with X shapes or used a satin stitch without separating my threads or just did a single stitch here and there. It was a lot of experimentation and I'm glad you (and everyone else who has commented) appreciates it! Thanks!  Cheesy
