I found this pattern for a cute reindeer embroidery on Urban Threads and used it for my project for Calixita in the Secret Santa Swap.

I printed the pattern on fabric, but it wouldn't work well for a hoop, so I decided to make it an accent pillow for her.  I never really was a fan of the satin stitch, but I worked hard at it and it turned out great! The rest is the basic backstitch.

Here is a  bit of a  close up before it's made into a pillow.

I love the poinsettias. You were right to keep at the satin stitch, it was worth it.

Your satin stitch is beautiful. It may not be your favorite stitch, but you do it quite well. I really like abstract style of the reindeer. Calixita will love it, I guarantee it.
