New Year??? We still haven't got to Christmas yet.
For paperweight value...stick a large fishing weight in the "butt" part. That should do the job.  Grin Close it over with a piece of paper, or felt?
These are very cute. I love the expressions, too.
I like the ornament idea, or just put in a dish on the table. If you don't mind people handling them...not sure how secure your glitter stuff is on them. But if they are sitting out, most people would not know "HANDS OFF!" I have that problem with my projects. Label it "WET PAINT" and everyone wants to touch! Grin I don't know why that is.

Another queen of afterthought...You can seal with a clear seal spray. To keep the glitter coat on. I use Formby's. I think I spelled that right...nope, but you can find it in the hardware section of your stores. I think there is an extra "e" in there...for the spelling. That stuff is great!
