I have been viewing tutorials for beginners.  I purchased a Brother PE770 and I have access to Embird 2003 (old).  Most tutorials I am finding assume a lot about the viewers level of experience, way beyond my current knowledge.  My question is this, do I approach embroidery machine files like I would word processing files, i.e. Microsoft Word?  I have figured out how to simply type the text I want in a file and save it, but I would like a design to follow my text and cannot find an explanation on how to add this.

Do I load the text file on the machine, embroider it, reposition my fabric and then load the design file and embroider it?  Or is there a way to combine text and design in to a single file?  Thanks for any advice you can offer.
