What Happened to the Swaps?!?

So im not sure if it's just lack of people wanting the responsibility of hosting a swap!
but what is with all these ongoing swaps. I want some traditional one theme one partner swaps. non of this post a list and hope random people pick you and make you stuff!

with so many people caught up on the ongoing swaps there is no one left to swap normal with, i know it's the holidays and swaps normally are slow but there are only 5 swaps up right now and every one is an ongoing except the birthday swap hosted buy the site!!

as soon as im done my swap now i plan on hosting a normal swap when i get an idea.
I challenge you people of Craftster to host some too!!

I think it probably has to do with the holiday season approaching so quickly -- swaps usually slow down in December, and then pick up again in January.

There are swaps in process at the moment that aren't ongoing, I am in 2 and wanted to be in a third but thought I should limit myself. Just depends what people are doing.

I really think alot of swaps are in waiting for the holidays to be over. I know I am only in one "normal" swap right now and don't want to sign up for more until after the holidays because I just don't have time.

I think there are several swaps that are currently in progress with signups closed. I'm organizing one with cackle that has sendouts on Monday. After that, we'll be taking time off until after the holidays. I'm sure we'll roll out a new swap in January when all the holiday eggnog has worn off.

I'm in a large/long one right now that sign-ups closed awhile ago and I'll be starting another big-ish one right after Christmas (Mini Art Quilt Swap 6, it's on discussion thread). I know personally I don't like to have extra commitments during the Holidays because I want to be able to make gifts, cook and bake, have time for parties and friends and families!

I am hosting two "normal" swaps right now, with sendouts in December.  I've been toying with an idea, but if I do it, it won't be until after New Year.
