i made this for the fibre /mixed media swap. i havnt really done much needle work so i was really pleased how this came out. i started with a felt base. i made the beak a largish cone, though you only see the tip to give the face a 3d aspect. you can sort of see the construction in the pkoto below. unfortunatly i forgot to take any more wip pics.  the feathers are lace with buttons for the eyes.

I absolutely love the way you made the owl's face from different colours of lace. This could be done for decorating any thing. A hair slide or a top. Thank you for the inspiration

I love owls and I love lace, so the two together is wonderful! From a distance it really does look quite feathery, and the way you've constructed it makes it really fit the face shape. Great skills Smiley
